A Difficult Update:
This is absolutely heartbreaking to share. February 7, 2026 will be my last day of business, and Suds Pet Salon will be closing until further notice due to circumstances completely outside of my control.
Despite my best efforts to remain open and secure a new location, I have reached a point where keeping my business open is no longer possible at this time.
Suds Pet Salon exists because of you — your trust, your kindness, and your incredible pets you’ve allowed me to care for. You are the reason this space felt so special. Losing the ability to continue, even temporarily, has been incredibly painful, and saying goodbye in this way is something I never imagined having to do.
I am endlessly grateful for your support, your loyalty, and the kindness you have shown me. You and your dogs have meant more to me than I can possibly put into words.
If you would like to schedule a final appointment with me, I would truly love to see you and your pups before then.
With so much love and gratitude,
Alaina
Why is This Happening:
I want to be as transparent as possible about why Suds Pet Salon is closing.
Suds Pet Salon operates as an independent grooming business within My Salon Suites. Recently, I was informed that a separate business in the same strip mall, Scenthound, has a “do not compete” clause in their lease with the strip mall property owner.
Because of this clause, the strip mall property owner contacted my landlord (the owner of My Salon Suites) with a cease and desist, which has resulted in a legal dispute that directly affects my ability to continue operating in this location. Although I am not a party to that lease and both myself and my landlord have done everything in our power to remain compliant and find a resolution, this situation is outside of my control.
Despite extensive efforts to remain open or relocate, the uncertainty, legal conflict, financial burden, and timeline have made it impossible for me to continue operating Suds Pet Salon at this time.
This closure has nothing to do with my clients, the quality of care provided, or a lack of demand. It is solely the result of a lease conflict between property owners.

Thank you for wanting to help. I am so grateful for the community I have in you, my clients. At this time, I am looking for contacts in commercial real estate, particularly anyone who may know of available salon suites or small retail spaces that would be a good fit for a one-on-one grooming business. If you or someone you know may be able to help, I would be incredibly grateful.
